唉,那怎么办才好呢?再给您找几个中译英译?法文看不懂,中文不利于您的论据就是“打架”不能用。要不给您找梁宗岱的译本再看看?再不,您不是能看Cotton的英译嘛,也看看上下文,我刚才贴的那段中译,Cotton有没有新解?支不支持您的“认识自我”学说?
"在卡西尔这里"的"逻辑关系",呵呵,难道比法语的文法还优先?比蒙田的原文、原书、原段语境还优先?真是越说越远了。
说到这儿,我真有点儿想认错的意思:没准卡西尔学的也是甘阳型的博雅法语?没准他内心的直觉(说来说去,什么能比内心和直觉更强大?)就把“sçavoir estre à soy”当成“认识自我”?这样,这里的逻辑关系不就合乎您的直觉理解了吗?甘阳的翻译能力不就又得到承认了吗?我们不也遵从了波普尔,成就了在真理面前谦卑的美德了吗?嗯,我看行,就这么办吧。否则净是这类"对话",呵呵,还真有点儿吃不消了。

梁宗岱译本,蒙田散文,北京,人民文学,2008,页109~110(篇名"论隐逸",照19楼的说法,这表明梁宗岱法语也有问题,不过这个且不管他):
我们已经为别人活够了,让我们为自己活着把,至少在这短促的余生。让我们把我们的思想和意向带回给我们和我们的安逸吧,要妥当布置我们的隐逸并不是一件小事,因为即使不掺杂别的事,我们也已经够忙的了。既然上帝给我们工夫布置我们的迁徙,让我们好好地准备吧:收拾行李;及时与社会告辞;打破种种把我们纠缠让我们分心的羁绊。我们必须解除这些强有力的束缚,从今天起,我们可以爱这个或那个,可是只是为了自己。也就是说,其余的身外之物都可以属于我们,但是并不紧紧粘附在我们身上,以致我们拿开它们的时候,还得剥去我们的一层皮,连带撕去身上的一块肉。世界上最大的事莫过于知道怎样将自己给自己。

这样来看,"知道怎样将自己给自己"不是就等于“to know that he is his own”了吗?然后不就又等于“认识自我”了吗?消除了打架,证明了直觉,宇宙也终于和谐了~
